About Verdictris

Who makes Verdictris, and how this site is kept accurate.

Verdictris is a noir social-deduction game about building a case under pressure. MindSurge Enterprise develops and publishes it, and writes everything on verdictris.io: the homepage, the rules guide, the strategy and system guides, and the policies. This page explains who is behind the game, how the guides are produced, how to report a mistake, and where the site shows advertising.

The game

A solo match seats 20, 30, or 40 players in a city where every seat holds a hidden role, a profession, and a private objective. Players move on a crime map, take contested actions, read an outcome feed, and argue in a public courtroom where a vote decides who is detained, executed, or spared. The full rules are in Learn Verdictris.

Where to play

The game runs in a desktop or mobile browser at verdictris.io/play, with no download. It is also listed on itch.io. Verdictris is free to play: there are no purchases, subscriptions, loot boxes, or paid currency.

How the guides are written and checked

The guides exist so a new player can learn the game before a timed match starts, and so a returning player can look up a rule mid-argument. They are maintained by the team that builds the game, alongside the changes they describe, and they follow four practices:

  • Rules are checked against the game. Guide text is compared with the game's own rule documents and source code, and when a rule changes, the guides that describe it are updated with it.
  • Printed numbers are tested. Where a guide prints a number the game computes, such as the dice odds table, the signatures a petition needs, or the fence's prices, an automated test reads the guide and compares it with the game's code, so a change that would make the guide wrong stops the build.
  • Every change is dated. Each guide shows when it was last updated and keeps a revision history listing what changed and when. A date moves only when the content does.
  • No hidden information. Advice uses only what a seat could legitimately know during a match. A guide never tells a player how to see another seat's hidden role.

Recent changes to the game itself are listed on What's new, each linked to the guide that explains it, and every guide is listed on the guides page.

Corrections

If a guide describes a rule differently from how the game plays, email mindsurgeenterprise@gmail.com with the page, the sentence, and what you saw in a match. A confirmed error is fixed in the guide and recorded in that guide's revision history, so readers can see what changed.

Advertising on this site

Advertising helps keep Verdictris free. When ads are enabled, Google AdSense may show one clearly labelled ad on the homepage and in the middle of the Learn, Roles, and Strategy guides, always after substantial text and away from links, buttons, and the Play control. The game itself shows no display ads, and neither do this page, the policies, the contact page, the guides list, or the focused guides on trials, evidence, the Black Market, and dice. The privacy policy explains the cookies and consent choices involved.

Who the game is for

Verdictris is intended for teens and adults. It includes social deception, crime themes, simulated trials, and non-graphic violence. Chat names and messages pass through an automated language filter, and the terms of service set the conduct rules for chat and trials.
